Way back last summer in early September I went to Bromley in Kent to photograph my friend Sarah and her beautiful Swedish Warmblood x Andalusian Bighan.
Going through this shoot again after such a busy winter and seeing the greens and light of summer has definitely got me excited about spring and those long beautiful days! It always seems like this time of year you can't remember what it was like to not have to trudge through mud or get up in the dark to go and muck out but I promise you those summer days are coming.
I have a huge soft spot for chestnut horses and the Iberian breeds so photographing this handsome chap was wonderful. Its always the usual challenges with photographing horses, getting them to look up and put ears forward, stand still and not eat grass (which is pretty impossible on some shoots) but you do get the moments in between where the shot comes together perfectly. My biggest tip ever to people I photograph with their horses is to keep looking at your horse like you love them and to keep smiling no matter how naughty they are being!
So this blog is a tribute to those long summer days and shiny coats which are just around the corner. So on that note and with limited availability throughout the summer please use the form to get in touch sooner rather than later if you are looking to have a photo shoot with your horse this summer. Enjoy the photos :)
